The Basic Envelope Quilt Label | |

![]() | Preparation. This is the wrong side of the fabric. You can see that I've used three different fabrics. The flap is the upper part. It's 7-1/2" x (about) 4". The white fabric is the middle part. It's 7-1/2" x (about) 4-1/2". I realized that the back of the envelope, which is the part that is against the quilt backing, is never seen. You can actually use plain fabric for this section, if you don't have a big enough piece o your focus fabric. That's why this section is plain white fabric ... it's never seen. The rest is the lower envelope. It's 7-1/2" x (about) 6-1/2". All seams are 1/4". Once sewn together, the resultant rectangle should be trimmed to 7-1/2" x 14-1/4", which is the measurement of the flap and outer envelope fabric of the Basic Envelope Quilt Label. |
| Now you can continue with the construction from the Basic Envelope Quilt Label, steps 1 through 8. | |
![]() | Interior. Here's the inside view of the envelope. I should have used a heavier weight fabric for the lining, since the fabric I used is rather translucent. If the see-through doesn't bother you, don't worry about it .. just be aware of this potential problem. |
![]() | And here is the completed Envelope Quilt Label, ready to be stitched to the quilt. |
